This project is being carried out at the two homoeopathic institutions viz Homoeopathic Medical College and Hospital (since April 2001) and Dr. B. R. Sur Homoeopathic Medical College, Hospital and Research Centre (since May 2003)

I. Nehru Homoeopathic Medical College and Hospital

  • Interns: Harpreet Singh, Manjari Sharma, Shweta Balaraman and Priya Mohanan.


During the period 1st April 2004 to 31st December 2004 there were 561 new cases of which 230 patients reported and 19 cases were old follow ups. In total there were 249(162 Male and 87 female) reporting cases.

Of the 249 reporting cases, 129 were cases of Asthma, 62 cases of chronic bronchitis, 19 cases were of Emphysema and remaining cases were of chronic sinusitis, allergic rhinitis and chronic tonsillitis.

Out of 249 reporting cases, there was marked improvement in 34 patients, moderate improvement in 107 patients, mild improvement in 39 cases, 15 cases were worse, 15 were under observation and 39 cases did not respond.

The most useful drugs found useful were Phos., Bryonia, Ammo-carb, Ars Iod, Bell, Ant tart., Tuberculinum, Sulphur, Arsenic album, Pulsatilla, Natrum mur and Lycopodium.

II. Dr. B. R. Sur Homoeopathic Medical College, Hospital and Research Centre

  • Dr. Mukesh Chawla, Assistant Professor, Materia Medica

  • Intern – Anjali Malhotra, Bhawna Chawla, Honey Arora, Pushpalata Bhatt, Shweta Sachdeva

64 cases (40 cases of Asthma and 24 miscellaneous cases) were registered during the period 1st April 2004 to 31st December 2004. Of these there were 58 reporting cases i.e 36 reporting cases of Asthma and 22 miscellaneous reporting cases. Marked improvement was in 12 cases of Asthma, moderate improvement in 15 cases of Asthma, mild improvement in 7 patients and no improvement in 6 patients of Asthma. In other miscellaneous cases marked improvement was in 10 cases, moderate improvement in 8 cases mild improvement in 4 cases and no improvement in 2 cases. The drugs found useful were Arsenic, Bryonia, Rhus tox, Puls., Pothos., Kali carb., Phos., Calc sulph, Nat mur., Lyco., Antim tart., Nux vom., Sepia., Kali bi., Hep sulph., Nat sulph.
